Leaving donations to charity
Who are Be Free Young Carers?

Be Free Young Carers is an independent charity based in Oxfordshire, supporting children and young people aged 8 to 17 who care for a family member. The charity is dedicated to improving young carers’ wellbeing, helping them build confidence, develop new skills and enjoy their childhood.

They work closely with families, schools and local communities to ensure young carers feel understood, included and supported. By building strong, personal relationships and providing ongoing emotional and developmental support, the charity helps young carers find their voice, develop resilience and achieve their full potential.

Can I include a donation to Be Free Young Carers in my will?

Yes. A charitable donation can be included as part of the will-writing process, with clear guidance to help you add a gift that reflects your wishes. You can choose how you give, whether it’s a fixed cash sum or a percentage of your estate. Gifts are not limited to cash and can also include property, stocks and shares, or valuable items such as jewellery and art. Whatever you choose to leave, your gift can make a lasting difference for years to come.

What type of gift can I make in my will?
  1. Specific gifts – such as your jewellery, shares or property
  2. Cash – known as ‘pecuniary’ gifts
  3. Residuary gifts – what's left after all debts have been paid and all other legacies have been accounted for.
Completing your document
How long does it take to complete a document?

We suggest you set aside around 1 hour to complete a document, although it can take less or more time, depending on the type of document you're creating and how much information you have to hand.

Do I have to complete my document in a set time period?

No, there isn't a time limit, you are very much in control of when you complete your documents. So you can start, then pause and come back when you are ready. But now you have purchased your documents, we suggest you complete them sooner rather than later.

What happens once I've completed the document?

Once you’ve made your purchase, you can start completing your document whenever it suits you using the easy-to-use online software.

Once you’ve completed your document, you can submit it for review by selecting ‘Send for review’ next to your document. A specialist will then review it and provide any feedback, guidance, or suggested changes if needed.

What happens after I buy my document?

You can start filling it out when you’re ready with our easy to use software.

How will I know if my document is legally binding?

Our specialist paralegals check your document in detail to identify any errors and ensure it meets legal requirements. Once they are 100% satisfied it is correct, and it has been printed, signed, and witnessed properly, it becomes legally binding.
